NANDA International first Expert Clinical Advisory Panel! by Idowu Olabode : January 14, 2015, 04:58:11 PM

In 2014, the Board and the Diagnostic Development Committee (DDC) decided to create a greater clinical focus within NANDA-I by establishing an Expert Clinical Advisory Panel (ECAP).

We're delighted to announce that the response was enormous and would like to congratulate the first group of 28 ECAP members. The panelists are drawn from
numerous specialities and are from a range of countries including Argentina,Austria, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Egypt,
Ghana, India, Italy, Peru,Philippines,Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, USA and the United Kingdom. A list of the panelists
can be found below

The aim of the panel is to provide a volunteer bank of recognised,
contemporary clinical experts who can advise the DDC Chair and members on relevant clinical issues and up-to-date evidence specific to newly submitted and
existing nursing diagnoses.

The work of the panel is conducted in English but panel lists are drawn from numerous different countries and will add a rich diversity to DDC's work. Panelists work with the DDC member who is allocated as the Primary Reviewer for new
submissions and amendments and support them in their work.

If you'd still like to volunteer for ECAP or have colleagues who would like to do so applications will be considered by DDC on
an on-going basis. Applications should be in the form of a curriculum vitae in English and sent to DDC Chair, Professor
Dickon Weir-Hughes, FNI at

Applicants don't need to be an expert in nursing diagnosis or research and don't need any particular qualifications but do
need to be an expert clinician in current clinical practice.Applicants will also need
good internet access and to be able to respond to emails quickly in English.

The Panel is particularly short of expertise in:
-psychiatry/mental health nursing,
-intellectual disability nursing,
-midwife-led care,
-renal nursing,
-neonatal ICU,
-ophthalmic nursing,
-nutritional care, and
-bariatric care and transplantation.

However, all applications will be
considered. Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for applications to be processed.

Meantime, please join us in welcoming our new ECAP panelists!
