Breaking News: Ekiti Kidnapped Nurse regains Freedom! by Idowu Olabode : May 23, 2015, 12:41:47 PM
The perioperative Nurse, Mrs Margaret Aladenika who was kidnapped  in Ekiti state has regained her freedom.

Mrs Aladenika, who hailed from Akwa Ibom State but married to an indigene of Ondo State, was abducted on Sunday 3rd of May along Ipere–Iludun-Ido road while  travelling on the bad and lonely road with her husband.

Another occupant of the vehicle, whose identity was not revealed was killed during the operation, leading to the suspicion that the perpetrators were members of Ido community and must have thought that the man could identify them.

There are however conflicting reports about her rescue. While the Nigeria Police Force claimed earlier on it Facebook page that it carried out the rescue mission leading to her rescue and that of nine others while the kidnappers were arrested; another unconfirmed source said the nurse and eight others were actually rescued by the local vigilantee group in Esure  before they were handed over to the monarch of the town- Elesure of Esure.

Ekiti Kidnap: 10 Victims Regain Freedom

The ten persons, including an 11-year-old boy kidnapped in Ekiti a month ago were at the early hours of Saturday released by their captors, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

They include Dr Folasade Alade, Dr Femi Omisoore, Dr Kikielomo Adegun and a nurse, Margret Aladeneka.

The victims, who were kidnapped at different locations within the state, included two lecturers at the Ekiti State University.

A family member of one of the victims, Mrs Nike Aina, told NAN that the victims were released after their families had paid some undisclosed ransom.

She said that they were dropped at a bush in Esure area of the state.

Also, a brother of one of the victims, Pastor Tokunbo Olofin, said that “my sister called me around 7 a.m. on Saturday, telling me they have been released.

“She used one of the villagers phone to call. We have seen them, we thank God for his faithfulness,’’ Olofin said.

He told NAN that the victims have been taken to hospitals for treatment by their families after the Police had arrived at the scene.

Olofin also said that the police advised to wait for the arrival of the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, but the relations could not as they hurriedly took them to hospitals for examination. (NAN)
