A Victory Against the Greed of Jigawa State NANNM Secretary. by Idowu Olabode : July 15, 2015, 01:45:55 PM
The date is the 14th of july 2014, the whole executive of jigawa state NANNM descended in federal medical centre birnin kudu jigawa state in an attempt to dismantle/ destabilize a well organized ever existed NANNM Branch/unit of Fmc Birnin kudu under the leadership of a distinguish gentle man, comrade Ado shehu

The effort is a breech of protcols in a leadership process and hunger to remain in power by the state NANNM secretary general (Aliyu Maigida) who has been in state NANNM for the past 8yr without achieving a single project for nurses in jigawa state but only siphoning the state association treasury .

A letter of congress and possible impeachment of the local branch exco was conspired between him and 8 deviated nurses mainly from theater unit (4 from theater ,1 from A/E, 1 from opthalmic , 1 from female ward, 1 each from maternity and paediatric ward) who are believed to be influenced by money to destabilize the union.

These minor group succeeded in distributing the circular overnight to all notice board without knowledge of nursing department and local executives.

The plan is for the state secretary to instigate members of the association in birnin kudu against the unit chairman for his selfish aim of perpetuating himself in the NANNM state exco as his ambition to become state chairman is draining him of all sanity and sensibilities.

Prior to this , a two(2) page paper was circulated to nurses to endorse with front a page stating that they will fight for uniform allowance for nurses and the nurses should write their name and sign in the 2nd page in which a reasonable number signed out of ignorance, unknown to them the names and signature was used by the tyrants as evidence of 2/3 of nurses agreeing to impeach the local executives.

This is gross misconduct, impious attitude, impersonation and criminal act which is punishable by law and carries with it legal consequences.

Things could have gotten out of hand for state NANNM exco and group of eight disgruntled members of the local NANNM as aggrieved nurses who felt cheated threaten to beat up and chase any body that might come to the congress because there was a serious revolt by nurses after being awaken by ever conscious nurses about the ill fated plan.

Thanks to the intervention of HOD Nursing services,Only 8 nurses and 1 myopic state executive member the intended plan to put over 150 nurses of Fmc birnin kudu into deep crisis was averted.

We thank comrade Ado shehu, his excos and committee of concerned Nurses of the centre and entire nurses for their boldness in revolting against the instigators of such treachery.

In as much as the proverbial "monkey hand in the soup" cannot be ignored we celebrate this victory against tyranny, the instigators and perpetrators must be punished by banning them from contesting for any position in NANNM.
