Improving the Care of HIV-Infected Women: An Online Interdisciplinary Training Program

Moderator: Inge Corless, PhD, RN, FNAP, FAAN
Women Living with HIV: Psychosocial Impact and Transitions

The HOPE Nurses Program is a monthly, hour-long conference involving several hundred doctors and nurses in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and other parts of the world. We use an internet conferencing platform for these live conferences, which are also recorded and archived for later viewing. The program focuses on topics relevant to care of HIV-infected patients in resource-limited settings. Examples include components of medicine adherence in HIV-positive teenagers, disability in nursing practice and nursing education, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, and updates on AIDS/HIV conferences and guidelines. Each conference is lead by an expert in the field. Participants ask questions and make comments using an interactive conferencing platform.
