HOW TO APPLY FOR DHA EXAM ONLINE  contd

Before you can be issued a practicing license by DHA, you must have a Labour Card ( check below for how to get a labour card). With your ELIGIBILITY LETTER, you can find a job as many hospitals, clinics and homes are looking for nurses with eligibility letter to employ.

HOW TO ATTEST YOUR EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATES.

To search for job, you need to first prepare your resume according to an acceptable format in Dubai. You can visit the following links and read how to prepare your CV to meet Dubai standard;

-   http://dubaiemploymenttips.com/resume-cv/
-   http://www.dubai-forever.com/nurse-resumes.html

You can also do a quick google search on pictorial Dubai CV format.

Next is to look for job in Dubai. If you are offshore, you can use different online job portals. The most popular ones to search for jobs in Dubai are: www.dubblizledubai.com, www.gulftalent.com, www.gulf-times.com,www.bayt.com,dubaijobber.com,monstergulf.com,jobs123.com, www.jobsearch.naukri.com, www.indeed.ae, www.waytogulf.com, among others. Some of the jobs may require nurses from specific countries while others might not. Just keep applying to as much as possible job position you qualified for.  Male nursing jobs in Dubai are not much available.

DO NOT GIVE ANYBODY MONEY AS CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT. ANYBODY THAT OFFERS YOU A JOB AND ASKS YOU TO PAY A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY IS A SCAMMER!

After landing a job, you will have to proceed to the final stage to obtain your license, work and resident permit. Below are the next steps:

1.   A written job offer or employment contract: Make sure you read and understands the terms and conditions of job contract. Ensure that it is stamped and signed or on official letter headed paper of the hospital. The hospital that employed you will begin the process of applying for your employment visa as they will serve as your sponsor.

2.   Your sponsor: The hospital employing you will serve as your sponsor. Once the necessary documents have been submitted by your employer, you will be contacted by the United Arab Emirates Immigration Department to confirm that your information has been received by your sponsor.

3.   Your health card: You will have to undergo a medical examination before this card can be issued. You will be tested for HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and Tuberculosis. These tests are conducted in designated hospitals in Dubai after which you go to the Department of Health and Medical services with the result and two passport sized photos and two photocopies of your international passport for the issuance of the Health Card.

4.   Labour Card: You cannot work in Dubai without a labour card. To get your labour card, go to the ministry of labour office with a passport-sized photo, three copies of your employment contract, photocopies of your entry visa, health card and a copy of your employer’s labour license which can be gotten from your employer.

5.   Obtaining your residence visa: After completing the four steps above,  then proceed to the Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs with the following documents:

-   Original passport
-   Original Health Card
-   Original entry permit
-   2 passport-sized photo
-   Photocopy of your labour card or labour card processing receipts

If you have any question at any stage, don’t hesitate to ask your employer

RN SALARY IN DUBAI

Experience greatly influence income in Dubai; your qualification, your position, or whether you are employed by the government or private institutions determine how much you will take home at the end of the month. According to payscale.com, the average salary per year for nurses is 85,031 AED per year. Gulfemploy.com has it that the least paid nurses in Dubai part home with 2,500 AED at the end of the month while 10,000 AED is the upper pay for nurses in the city.

1 AED = 54 NAIRA (As at 5/1/2016)

DHA and HAAD: Information Nurses Would Want to Know

United Arab Emirates (UAE) had made it easy for medical professionals to practice across the country.

In a revolutionary agreement, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to unify licensing procedures for health care practitioners working in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

For an overview, HAAD provides a comprehensive licensure exam for medical professionals who want to work in Abu Dhabi.

On the other hand, DHA is the agency responsible for developing an integrated and sustainable healthcare system that ensures delivery of comprehensive and excellent services to achieve the highest international standards in health of individuals and community in Dubai.

Until lately, medical staff could only work in the Emirate they have a license for and needed to start a new assessment procedure if they moved to a health facility in another emirate, e.g. if you have a license issued by the DHA, you can only work in Dubai and needs to have a new license issued by another authorized agency if you wish to work in another Emirate – a process that could take up to two months.

The licensing procedure had always been the leading problem for medical practitioners because although there is no deficiency of eligible medical professionals wanting to work in the UAE, hiring them for employment can take up several months due to the complicated licensing system.

Now, through the signed memorandum of DHA and HAAD, if any medical professional wishes to work in another Emirate, he has to simply apply for the license from the appropriate authorities, which will be given without any other examination and assessment tests.

In essence, medical practitioners will not have to go through unnecessary procedures.

Under the new agreement, practitioners who have a license from either Emirate will be excused from primary source verification and assessment procedures, allowing them to save time and money and facilitating movement.

This unification of medical licenses across the UAE is a noble change for the medical field.

The memorandum through its mutual recognition of medical licenses will develop cooperation between the two health authorities (DHA and HAAD), benefit health care professionals, and improve the health sector in the UAE.

Hi Idowu Olabode,

Regarding your post related to NURSING REGISTRATION IN DUBAI on  March 29, 2015, 03:19:28 PM, in step 5 it was wrote that "You will be exempted from writing this exam if you are a registered nurse in Australia,Canada,Ireland, New Zealand,South Africa,UK and USA".

I am an Indian citizen now working as a Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Board) in Ireland for one year. I have a total experience of 4 years. I would like to know whether I need to appear for Dubai Health Authority pro metric exam, to get the eligibility letter in order to become a registered Nurse in DHA.

So many sites I searched to confirm this. But didn't get.  Would you plse suggest any DHA site???

Thanks Paul for the feedback. Oops, it was a mistake only those who applied to HAAD from those countries are exempted according to the document on HAAD website. As for the link, check out this HAAD document (appendix 10 talks about nurses and midwives) on who and who will be exempted from writing the exam. http://www.haad.ae/HAAD/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=xvB6WwzZhow=. Note however that this document will be reviewed by next year April.

Regarding the experience qualification for DHA exam. Is it fine that I have 3 yrs gap of practice? Or do I need to have CME and training requirements like what HAAD requires?

Re: DHA Exam Requirements for Nurses: A Guide to Nursing Registration in Dubai by Adeleke T : January 17, 2016, 01:21:42 AM
Hi Idowu Olabode,
Concerning your post on how to get registered as a nurse in the UAE, i have registered and have a username and password already, but i have been unable to register on the professional license registration page, after inputing all my data, the page keeps bringing back error info that i didnt input my date of birth which i had done, i have been at it for a week now.
Even to check requirements from their site is impossible now as the requirement page usually request for username and password which after inputing will still come back with same command.
I guess their portal is down or do you know if they now use a different portal?

Re: DHA Exam Requirements for Nurses: A Guide to Nursing Registration in Dubai by Idowu Olabode : January 17, 2016, 01:41:32 AM
@Gladz, I think you will need CME unit (not so sure though and I hope someone else will answer this).

@Adeleke, are you accessing the site from a mobile device? Which browser are you using? Try and access the website  through a computer and if you have done so and still having same problem try another browser.
Try and blur those personal information before uploading next time to prevent people from stealing your identity. You might want to take those pictures down as much of your personal information is reflected which is not too OK.

My wife failed 2 attempts of dha exam & worried about if she failed on 3rd attempt she needs to take some experience or additional qualifications. But can anyone help us what exactly we have to do for appearing 4th attempt.. If we need further experience from home country, please tell us how many extra years needed & if some trainings or qualifications needs to acquire, what are those trainings, its duration & can we do those training in dubai itself.

In Her 1st attempt questions were easy and from study materials but she was not well to prepare for 1st attempt but after  she prepares  for months and attended 2time the questions were totally out of the study materials and kind of Higher master people or 10-15 years experienced can only answer. Why the qiestions have this much difference from exam to exam.. We hope the questions will be liberal like 1st attempt for the 3rd attempt.

Thanks for the information. You said after printing the authorization form we will be asked to pay 210 AED , when i got to that stage i didn't see the 210  option rather i saw a price of 990aed  to be paid at once.  I'm attempting HAAD registration, is the application fee different Than that of DHA?

The fees for HAAD dataflow registration is 980AED according to those who made the payment this month.
