Requirements  to get into nursing school

Nursing school is no doubt competitive given the job prospects for graduate of the profession. knowing the requirements to get into nursing school would help you prepare to meet those requirements in your exams.

Being a profession in the healthcare industry, before  beginning your nursing studies, it is strongly suggested that you take at least a medical terminology course so as to be able to prepare for the task a hard. Depending on your program and school, , you may also be required to complete other prerequisites, such as:

Anatomy and physiology
Human growth and development

These topics would be further treated during your nursing school days so having an understanding on them would help you in your nursing school.

Other requirements might include math, English composition, psychology, biology, chemistry, and more. It is important to consult the schools you're considering to find out what their prerequisites are as this varies from school to school.

What Are the Admission Requirements to get into nursing school ?

1. High school diploma or GED,  with good grades. Some schools will accept students with a GPA of 2.5, but others require over a 3.0.

2. Test of essential academic skills (TEAS) which covers reading, math, science and English.

3. Volunteering in Community clinic or hospital is an added advantage

4.  High school transcript, and a transcript showing your grades from any college you attended.

Then, you'll want to attend nursing information sessions at the schools you're applying to. This will get you oriented on the schools and their nursing programs, so you'll be able to select the one that's right for you.
