Do you know that there are 33 Schools of Basic Midwifery in Nigeria? Basic Midwifery is a 3 years program leading to registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. You don't need a nursing background to enrol. Program requirement is 5 O level credit in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. At the completion of the program you will undergo 1 year service under the Midwives Service Scheme. But note that only LAUTECH,NOUN and OAU online nursing degree accepts Midwives without Nursing for degree program. 4. Denied accreditation status is indefinite until deficiencies are rectified & re-accreditation visit conducted and decision taken by the board
