DAISY: Nominate a nurse for a DAISY award by Idowu Olabode : November 23, 2015, 10:02:08 AM
FAIRFIELD — NorthBay Healthcare is seeking nominations for an award that recognizes nurses who go above and beyond what’s required to serve the needs of hospital patients.

The DAISY Award was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by his family, who were grateful for all the support and help giving to him during his battle with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), according to a NorthBay Healthcare press release.

NorthBay Healthcare invites patients and families of patients to nominate a nurse who went above and beyond the call of duty.

The forms can be found at the front desk at NorthBay Medical Center, 1200 B. Gale Wilson Blvd., Fairfield; VacaValley Hospital, 1000 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville; and at all NorthBay medical office buildings. It can also be found online at

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The first presentation will take place Jan. 27. The award will be presented six times a year, so nominations are accepted year-round.
