The 2015 World Health Organisation analysis estimated the global health workforce to be slightly above 43million workers.  Out of this 20.7million are nurses and midwives. will be mining information about the total number of nurses in each country and be making same available to all on this thread. This will assist any nurse who need such data either now or in the future for educational, informational or research purposes.

If you have information about the number of nurses in any/your  country, you can drop it here. Note that only data from the following sources would be accepted:
-Nursing Boards
-National Nursing Unions/organizations
-Research findings or research literature published in recognized journals
-Government agencies such as Department of Labour, Health etc
-International Non governmental organizations e.g WHO

You are equally to provide a link to the source.

To ensure uniformity of total population data of countries, we shall be sticking with World Health Statistics 2016: Monitoring Health for the SDGs, Sustainable Development Goals Published early this year and available for download on WHO website

Note that only publicly available information would be provided, members and quests are encouraged to make this a success by using the reply button to contribute.
