CALL FOR MIDWIFERY EDUCATORS TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINE RESEARCH SURVEY by Idowu Olabode : March 03, 2016, 06:16:23 PM
“How to strengthen midwifery educator capacity in teaching in low and middle income countries?”

My name is Florence West (Florence.west@student.uts.edu.au), I am a midwife and a PhD Health student at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia.  My supervisors are Professor Caroline Homer and Dr. Angela Dawson. We have human research ethical approval from the UTS Human Research Ethics Committee to conduct this research.

The aim of this research is to determine if a conceptual model for building capacity in midwifery education that was informed by previous findings and a theoretical framework has applications for strengthening midwifery education in other low and middle income countries.

We are wanting to recruit midwifery educators who:

Currently are, or in the last two years have been, working in a teaching institution in a low or middle income country which educates midwives
Are/were a national or international expatriate educator working together
Are/were participating in a capacity building process to strengthen midwifery educator teaching

It is expected that findings from this research will contribute to improving capacity building processes for midwifery educators working in low and middle income countries and potentially improve the quality of midwifery education.

If you say yes, we will ask you to complete a survey, which should take between 30 and 45 minutes. You will NOT have to disclose any personal information that may identify you. Your responses will be completely anonymous.

You can click on the relevant link below, to access the online survey, depending on whether you identify as being an international expatriate or national educator. Your responses will be recorded by surveymonkey and sent directly to the research team. You can take the survey only once until the survey is closed on 27th March 2016. If you have any questions about the survey, please email me at: Florence.west@student.uts.edu.au

We appreciate your valuable input.
